Another day
28/Aug/07 08:17 PM
Sitting here with Jasmine on my shoulder, she is
being such a little lovely dove tonight. I just
happen to notice today that she now has two tail
feathers that are full and haven't been chomped off
yet. This is being to get very exciting, seeing these
changes come out of her. I am so happy.
Indie is going through a molt still, no sign of black feathers yet for his man beard, but he is only going on 14 months old. He has been talking to himself a lot lately when he thinks I am not paying attention. But if you listen real close you will hear him say "pretty bird" or maybe its "pretty boy". I am not to sure yet. Until he feel confident that he has the word down pat, he isn't going to let me in on what he's been saying to himself. But its so cute to watch him.
In the process of working on a couple of quilt projects, you know I just can't stick with one.
Working on a quilt for a dear
friend's daughter (a lady that is on one of my
bird group forums). She was in a terrible
accident and lost her best friend, and having a
hard time cooping with the lose and also having
a very slow recovery. I just wish there was more
that I could do.
Also still chugging alone with my block of the month. Hopefully I should have the 2nd one finished be able to post a picture of it for ya all. Have another project that I am trying to get done for my brothers birthday, that isn't until October, but you can never get started too early. Especially with how I am with starting a project and not picking it back up right away.
Incase you had not notice I posted some new pictures of both Jasmine and Indie yesterday. I also put up some new video of Jasmine having her screaming fit.
Thats about it for now, going to go hop in the shower, so until next time, take care.

Lets compare
27/Aug/07 06:53 PM
I have to add these on here to compare. I have two
separate photos that I have taken of Jasmines wing,
the main one that she chews on. I have the first one
here taken the 2nd day in her new home.
And then I have this one which I took recently, you tell me if you see any improvement. I think I do, but what do you think?
Not the best shot, I realize that, but I had to try and get my husband to hold her wing out so I could get a shot. Its wasn't easy, she was being a wiggle butt. But its starting to look better huh? So maybe I am doing something right and doing this little girl some good.

Well thats it, I have to stay out of the pet stores,
and start trying to buy my bird toys online or
something. All I can say is.... its a good thing I am
not made of money.
The low down: I stopped at a pet store on the way home today, as I haven't bought any of the fids new toys for some time now. And I just know they are so bored with all the ones they have currently. Well I can't just look at the toys, I also have to go say hello to all the birds there. Well they had two very cute, young sun conures. I spent some time talking to them both and petting them. They both just climbed on to my fingers and was loving me so much. One of them was quite a bit larger than the other, even though I think they might be pretty close to the same age group. The smallest one, was such a doll, it just sat there on my finger while in its cage and tried to give me a manicure (very gently). I had the hardest time walking away from these little guys but at $537.00 each I had no choice. One of the employees asked me if I want to hold one of them, I had to say no, no and walk away. I so wanted to bring this little guy home with me. I told her us bird people have this terrible disease, its called Multiple Bird Syndrome. And I need to just walk away. She laughed and said "yeah there is something about people that own birds and ferrets, they just can't own one."
For one I can't take on another bird, Jasmine and Indie take up all of my time now as it is. For two. I can't afford to just plunk down a wad of cash for another bird, its a good thing they don't do a lay-a-way. (I asked) Third, my husband would probably put me out to pasture, he rarely tells me no, but I also told him that after Jasmine that was all I needed.
Oh but it was a baby and it was so sweet, and I just know it would have been something I could have cuddled with and loved. I know I have to get it out of my mind.
I haven't mentioned Jasmine has taken a liking to my husband. Oh yeah she's supposed to be my bird, but she loves my husband. She is very good with me, when he isn't home. But when he is home, she just loves him to pieces. Jasmine is supposed to be my cuddle baby, instead she is cuddling with my husband and giving him kisses. Maybe this is why I started to fall in love with that little sun conure, who seemed to really want to go home with me. Now I just have to figure out how to get my husband to go out of town for a while, so Jasmine can just bond with me, without him around. It could work, couldn't it?
Oh listen to me ramble and moan. I better let you go so I can get off my soap box.

The Visit
14/Aug/07 05:23 PM
Today was the day for Jasmine to go to the vet. First
vet visit that I have been able to take her to since
I have owned her. She did very well. Got her beak
& nails trimmed. Didn't need to trim the wings,
as she does that herself right now, still. Had some
blood work done on her, to make sure she doesn't have
anything going on. I sure hope nothing is wrong with
her, and that her feather chewing is infact due to
stress. It will be one week til I hear the results.
Overall Jasmine was just a doll for the vet, and of
course he was just wonderful to her.
On the way home I stopped at the store, I live about an hour away from the vet, so I didn't want to run home and than back to the store. I just took Jasmine with me, after all she was in her carrier, she was so well behaved while I ran around grabbing a couple of things. She also seemed to really enjoy the attention she was getting from the employees during check out. They thought it was so neat, and didn't have one bit of problem that I had brought her in with me.
After a long day of driving, tests, driving again and then the excitment at the store, Jasmine is wore out and now taking a little nap. As for me, it was a pretty long stressful day myself.
I will keep you updated on her results when I get them.

Getting ready
14/Aug/07 12:37 PM
Well today is the day. Jasmine's appointment is
today. I hope everything goes well. I am just hoping
I can get her in my birdie carrier without problems.
I fixed the pictures of my quilts, they were turned sideways, now they are correct. Well I will get back with you later about how the vet appointment went, need to finish getting ready now.

Block of the Month
12/Aug/07 10:00 PM
Been a
while since I last posted, I know, I am sorry. Been
so busy with life. After finally finishing the quilts
for my works auction, and the baby blanket for a
friend. I thought I would actually take some time for
my self. I joined a block of the Month back in April.
I currently have 5 months of blocks that need my
attention and I haven't really done much of it except
to pre-wash the fabric.
A Block of the Month (BOM) for those that do not know, is a quilt that is broken down into blocks that are given out one block per month. You get the pattern for that block and the material required to make it. Well I finally got the first one completed. Here it is, Morning Glory
I had started on the second block but did not get it complete, than to top it off Sunday came and I had a migraine from hell. So needless to say, I didn't get anything done on that day.
The completed quilt is called "Out of Darkness" if you would like to see the final result of the finished quilt, it is located here: Pam Bono Designs. I am going to try and post a picture of each block as I finish it, as I think the quilt is just gorgeous.
I also have some pictures of the quilt that I have completed for the auction, as well as the baby blanket (ducks & frogs are on it)that took me forever to finish. I have added these to my quilts page if you are interested in seeing them. I have also thrown on some new pictures of Indie and Jasmine.
Thats about it for today. Just quilt talk, nothing much to report on about the fids. Other than, Jasmine has her vet appointment on tuesday, lets hope everything goes well.
